How to get USDC into Hyperliquid

Orbafin copies trades inside your own Hyperliquid account, which holds USDC. Here is how to get it there from an exchange, in five steps.

Two rules that protect your money: deposits to Hyperliquid must be at least 5 USDC (smaller deposits are lost), and only native USDC on Arbitrum One works, not bridged "USDC.e" or USDC on another network. Orbafin never asks for your recovery phrase.
Step 1

Buy USDC on an exchange

On the exchange you already use, buy USDC, a stablecoin worth one dollar. To copy you need at least 101 USDC in Hyperliquid, so buy a little more than that.

If you only hold USDT or another coin, swap it to USDC on the exchange first.

Step 2

Get a little ETH on Arbitrum for the network fee

Sending USDC from your wallet into Hyperliquid is a transaction on the Arbitrum network, which costs a small fee paid in ETH, usually a few cents. Withdraw about 2–5 dollars of ETH to your wallet on the Arbitrum One network along with your USDC.

Step 3

Withdraw the USDC to your wallet on Arbitrum One

On the exchange, choose Withdraw → USDC, then:

  • Network: Arbitrum One. Not Ethereum, not Arbitrum Nova and not any other network.
  • Address: copy it from your wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, Trust Wallet…) and paste it. Check the first and last characters match.
  • The first time, send a small test amount and wait for it to arrive before sending the rest.
Step 4

Deposit it to Hyperliquid on Orbafin

Connect your wallet on Orbafin, open the Trade page and press Deposit USDC. Enter the amount and approve the transaction in your wallet. It arrives in your Hyperliquid account in about a minute.

The deposit goes through Hyperliquid's official bridge on Arbitrum. You can also deposit on app.hyperliquid.xyz; it is the same account.

Step 5

Start copying

With at least 101 USDC in Hyperliquid, pick a trader on Copy a Trader and follow the beginner's guide.

Questions

How long does it take?+
Exchange withdrawals usually take a few minutes, depending on the exchange. The deposit from your wallet into Hyperliquid is credited in under a minute.
What does it cost?+
The exchange's withdrawal fee, plus a few cents of ETH for the Arbitrum transaction. Orbafin charges nothing for deposits.
I sent USDC on the wrong network. What now?+
Do not send more. Contact the exchange or your wallet's support; funds sent on a network your wallet supports can usually be recovered from that network.
How do I take my money out again?+
Withdraw from your Hyperliquid account on app.hyperliquid.xyz. It arrives in your wallet on Arbitrum in a few minutes, and from there you can send it back to your exchange on Arbitrum One.
